Summer's Sweet End

I feel fairly horrible that it has been over four months since I have last posted. I feel like I should have a lot of explaining to do. I have been very busy, but sadly enough most of my time is spent in the kitchen at work instead of the kitchen in my apartment. I have been super busy working at Disney World on their College Program. I have been at Disney since the end of May which is why my posts have been more than lacking. I have had a very small amount of time to make cookies since I moved here and now started online classes, but nonetheless I have been able to make a few.

I have made some for my brother's high school graduation before I left for Orlando in May. He's going to Mississippi State, hence the Mississippi State cookies. They took a tumble to the floor literally seconds after I put them on the plate. However, only two of them were fatally wounded and both were quickly eaten and no evidence of their fall was left.

There was a little leftover cookie dough from his cookies so I decided to make a few for me. Delta Gamma cookies of course!

I then ventured onto Disney World... what can I say it's the perfect place for me!

 My beautiful name tag.

Me and some of my roommates in front of Cinderella Castle. I live with seven other girls so when I make cookies they don't last very long.

I made these for my roommates birthday, a friend's birthday, my brother's birthday and just because I felt the need to make cookies because it had been a while since I made them last. I got fairly creative with these and decided to try a new pattern as well as cupcake cookies.

I work here at Disney's Art of Animation Resort...

Where some of the rooms are themed after Finding Nemo. I got in some Disney spirit and made some of the seagulls from Finding Nemo. The "Mine, Mine, Mine" ones...

The resemblance is close, I think I should have made their beaks yellow instead of orange but they still look like the seagulls.

I just bought some Star Wars cookie cutters, but most of them require me to use black icing (which I have found to taste horrible, so I'll be messing around with colors to see if I can come up with something better.)

Stay Sweet

Wedding Shower, My Sweet Little, Sorority Composites and Surgery

Every year the high school I graduated from has an auction. This year I thought hat I could give back to my high school by donating some of my talents (thank you Mr. Rex). So I donated an order of custom cookies. The woman who won the cookies in the auction got in touch with me and found and sent me a picture of what she wanted the cookies to look like.

I had actually seen these before (on Pinterest) and really wanted to make them but didn't really know what I would make them for. But now I had a reason to buy the quarterfoil cookie cutter and start baking away.

Each cookie ended up being much larger than I originally intended them to be because most of the cookie cutters I looked at for this project were either way too small or extremely overpriced (I'm talking about $15 for a cookie cutter!!!) So I figured a 5 inch cutter was the best I could do so I bought it.

In the end buying the larger sized cookie cutter ended up working out perfectly. The letters fit exactly the way they needed to and they weren't too cramped. (I did a test set of cookies on a 2 inch square and it was way too small and it just looked funny.)

We had initiation last weekend which means... I GOT MY PADDLE!!!! This is a big deal for bigs in the Sorority life. My little did PERFECTLY on my paddle. She knows me so well... glitter and Disney. I couldn't have asked for anything better!

She also gave me a HUGE Disney princess coloring book!!!

My big, me, and my little

I also got to see my sorority composites. All the pictures of out members will go in a frame (like those in a graduating class from high school) and it goes on the wall in our chapter room.

Yesterday I had surgery on my sinuses and nose, hopefully this will help resolve all the major health issues I have been having within the last year. I got a cute little cotton mustache too. If there is anything that doesn't make since in this blog post this should explain why...

Baby Shower for L. and excitement in Greek Life

I feel like recently I keep apologizing for lack of posts... The life of a busy college student has been hitting me hard recently. I've barely baked at all in the last few weeks and the majority of what I have baked has ben from Betty Crocker. (For those of you who don't know me very well I cringe whenever making any kind of baked good out of a box, I like to make everything from scratch). I made these way back in March and I have just gotten around to blogging about it... Shame on me I know.

I love these little zebra print & hot pink cookies

I used an edible marker to make the stripes. I hate trying to dye the icing black, it gets to be a pain and by the time the icing finally starts to look black the icing tastes gross from all the extra food coloring put in it. Plus using an edible food color marker makes the whole process faster because it dries quickly.

Of course a baby shower is not complete without cupcakes!

In the last few weeks I have been blessed with several opportunities. First, I was accepted into the Disney College Program!!!!! My move in day there is May 27 and my last day will be January 3!!! I am very excited about this opportunity especially because I LOVE DISNEY!!!!

I also got the opportunity to do Greek sing with my sisters! I had an amazing time getting to know them better and can't wait to do it again next year. If you want to watch our performance click here.

I also just took a little in my sorority! I love her so much and I will be extremely sad to leave her as well as my sisters of Delta Gamma in the fall.
